Producing the Electricity Afghanistan Needs While Also Protecting Our Nation’s Rich Environmental Heritage
Mitigating Environmental Risk directs every initiative Bayat Power undertakes to develop Afghanistan’s energy resources and produce the electric power that is essential for our nation’s economic development.
Working with leading experts in Environmental Management and external environmental protection organizations, Bayat Power’s Environmental Stewardship Plan uses a four-phase process to minimize the impact of our energy development operations on local environmental ecosystems and communities:
- Identify the impacts that our Energy Development and Power Production activities may have on local environments and communities
- Rigorous evaluation of potential solutions that reduce environmental risks
- Application of risk reduction solutions
- Monitor the effectiveness of our environmental protection solutions on local ecosystems and communities
Our Environmental Stewardship initiatives enable Bayat Power to develop Afghanistan’s energy resources, while also protecting our nation’s rich environmental heritage.

The Bayat Foundation, Afghanistan’s largest private charitable foundation and Bayat Power, Afghanistan’s largest private power generation company, are both champions of Afghanistan’s long-term economic and social progress.
In January 2019, The Bayat Foundation and Bayat Power launched their collective community development initiative, as part of a long-term effort to build the spirit of cooperation and partnership with the people of Jowzjan Province.
